Wavell StarrWavell Starr is a professional wrestler from the Star Blanket Cree Nation and is the son of former Chief Clifford Starr. His Mother Iona is from the White Cap Dakota Nation. He has a sister, Kimberly and a son, Caige Starr. Wavell’s dream growing up was to be a professional wrestler and he is living that dream today. His interest in the sport grew from watching Stampede Wrestling where he idolized Brett “the Hitman” Hart, The Dynamite Kid and Davey Boy Smith and wanted to follow in their footsteps in to the world of pro wrestling.

Wavell received his training from the Hart Brothers Pro Wrestling Academy in Calgary at the “dungeon” in the basement of wrestling legend Stu Hart’s home. Eventually Wavell was selected to train with the WWE Developmental class in Louisville, Kentucky. Starr would eventually make his biggest career moments having several matches on WWE television and in front of WWE crowds in stadiums and coliseums across North America.

Wavell has played several sports. He was the number one seeded player in the Canadian Junior National Racquetball championships, and excelled at hockey, baseball, basketball, rugby and football. Wavell played 5 years with the Regina Rams football team where the team won the National Championship three years in a row and was twice inducted into in the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame. He encourages people to follow their dreams with hard work. He believes that youth can benefit when they engage in sports, culture, education, and careers.
