stephanieStephanie Whitecloud-Brass is a proud member of the Standing Buffalo Dakota Nation. Born and raised in the Qu’Appelle Valley, Stephanie credits her First Nation for their supportive and encouragement over the years in her pursuit to obtain her formal education. An alumna of the Athol Murray College of Notre Dame, Stephanie obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree and her Certificate in Indian Health Studies in 2000 from the University of Regina. After working as a field biologist in Saskatchewan’s oil and gas industry, Stephanie accepted a position with the Lands and Resources Secretariat of the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations (FSIN). While with the FSIN, she was presented with an opportunity to work and live in Seoul, South Korea as an English teacher. It was the culmination of these work experiences that prompted her to think about pursuing a degree in law. Graduating from the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Law in 2007, Stephanie was called to the Saskatchewan Bar in 2008 and has since, enjoyed a rewarding career as a lawyer. Being from a community within Treaty 4 territory, Stephanie has always had a keen and innate interest in the news and developments which have the potential to affect the well-being of her fellow First Nation citizens.
