(Saskatoon, SK) – Indigenous youth had a chance to explore future careers today at The 2017 Future if Yours Career Expo at Prairieland Park in Saskatoon.

The expo is hosted by the Saskatoon Tribal Council, in conjunction with PotashCorp. It is Saskatoon’s largest career expo and is designed specifically to target Aboriginal youth.

“This is the Saskatoon Tribal Council’s fourth year hosting the event as part of the STC-Potash Corp partnership. The attendance has jumped to over 1000 participants and has over 75 exhibitors. This partnership has proven positive for the community both for our youth and employers,” said Felix Thomas, Tribal chief of the Saskatoon Tribal Council.

“Lifting up our Indigenous youth benefits everyone,” Thomas added.

“PotashCorp is happy to support the Future Is Yours Career Expo because we are committed to helping Aboriginal young people realize and achieve their potential,” said Leanne Bellegarde, PotashCorp’s Director of Diversity & Inclusion. “When our young people choose to continue their education and enter the work world, they have the skills and determination to become a driving force in our province.”

Over 1200 First Nations youth from across the province registered to attend this year. They spent the day visiting a wide spectrum of interactive exhibitor trade show booths, take in local role model presentations, prize draws, and more.
