On Friday, June 3, after a two-month covert operation, Regina Police arrested and charged nine males with a series of Criminal Code offences including Robbery with Violence, Extortion, and Assault Causing Bodily Harm.

The covert investigation involved the Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team and the Street Gang Unit. The investigation, titled “Project SHRED”, was a direct result of a series of violent offences that occurred in Regina involving persons identified in drug trafficking activity. A number of individuals, including several members of the Native Syndicate Street Gang, were arrested during the investigation.

Evidence collected during the two month public safety operation included:  a firearm, ammunition, replica firearms, machete, Canadian currency and Controlled Substances including Fentanyl, Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Morphine and Marihuana.

Nine males between the ages of 18 and 40 appeared in Provincial Court Monday morning and were read 20 charges.

Jeremy John Arnold, 35, of Regina faces seven charges including Instructing Commission of Criminal Offence for Criminal Organization.  Each of the other eight male accused faces a charge of Participation in a Criminal Organization.

The investigation is ongoing.
