A multiple vehicle accident this morning on Highway 6 north of Regina has left five people dead and two injured.

The accident happened 15 km north of Regina.

RCMP report that three male and two female adults died on scene, while one male and one female with undetermined injuries were taken to a Regina hospital.

Highway 6 was closed and traffic rerouted, but reopened later this afternoon.

Motorists are advised to drive with caution as winter conditions exist on the road.

RCMP from Southey and White Butte responded to the accident and are investigating.
