A candidate in Winnipeg’s 2014 mayoral election, Dr. Robert-Falcon Ouellette, is coming to Saskatoon to talk about racism and empowerment.

“Racism and Powerment” – An Honest Conversation, will feature Ouellette speaking about insights from Winnipeg, where local leadership has vowed to tackle the issue of racism.  The event is hosted by Lisa Abbott, the Liberal candidate nominee for the Saskatoon West riding in the upcoming federal election.

Winnipeg was recently named as the most racist city in Canada by Maclean’s Magazine. The magazine also reported that high levels of racism also exist in Saskatoon compared to other places in the country.

The event takes place Tuesday February 3, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. at the Confederation Inn on Fairlight Drive in Saskatoon.
