(REGINA, SK) The Regina Police Service is investigating to verify the information offered on a Reddit post about the location of Tamra Keepness. The post featured a hand-drawn map of the location of the missing Regina girl, who was just five years old when she disappeared in July, 2004.

An RPS investigator and a member of the RCMP were on the Muscowepetung Saulteaux First Nation to look at the area identified on the hand-drawn map. The map is not to scale, but they found one well in the area that appears on the sketch, with the next nearest one located 2.5 km away. In total, 30 wells were identified on the reserve.

RPS spokesperson Elizabeth Popowich said in a written update that RPS will continue to gather information and work to determine if the map holds real information about Keepness. The investigation is an RPS case, and they will determine next steps of the investigation which may include examining wells, choosing a starting point, identifying resources, skills and equipment required, and other factors.

No search is underway at this stage.
