File Hills First Nation Police Services (FHFNPS) recently welcomed a new member to its ranks.

Constable Priscilla Johnstone joined FHFNPS on September 29, 2014 after serving with the Regina Police Service for six years.

Johnstone, a member of the Mistawasis First Nation, also earned a two-year diploma in addictions training through the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies and is currently taking a Human Justice class.

She has also worked with Corrections and Public Safety as a mentor for adults with cognitive disabilities, the Needle Exchange Program in Saskatoon and the 2007 Treaty 4 Initiative, the press release noted.

Johnstone also practices her traditional teachings, is knowledgeable of First Nation protocols and has just taken in her first year at the Sun Dance ceremony.
